Description

This is a vintage bronze lacquer and enamel smokers’ box, featuring a striking design that combines black lacquer with red detailing and hardstone elements. The box was crafted during the Art Deco era, circa 1930s. It includes a wood lining and was likely made in Austria. Designed to hold cigarettes, the body showcases a glossy black finish accented by vivid Chinese red effect detailing.

Features:
• Art Deco period, circa 1930s
• Bronze construction with wood lining
• Black lacquer finish with red details
• Lid decorated with five inset stones, which may be polished stone or a hard enamel composite

Measurements:
The box measures approximately 6.00 inches in length, 3.50 inches in width, and 2.00 inches in height, including the raised stone decoration on the lid.

Condition:
The box exhibits some age-related issues. One side panel is slightly raised but remains firmly attached with no movement. The interior lid has areas of enamel loss, and the top of the lid shows some roughness in the black enamel finish. All condition issues have been thoroughly photographed, so please examine the images closely as they are an important part of the item’s description. We are happy to provide more photos upon request.
