Description
This pair of vintage German Art Deco suit brushes features natural bristles and is topped with hand-painted porcelain dog heads. Manufactured in Germany, the taller brush sports a purple terrier with a moustache, marked “Germany,” while the shorter brush displays a black and white French Bulldog, marked “Germany 8576.”
Collectibility and Use:
These brushes were once essential tools in barbershops of their era. They combine practicality with humour, serving as both functional grooming accessories and sought-after collectibles for enthusiasts.
Dimensions:
• Terrier: 8.00 inches long
• French Bulldog: 6.25 inches long
Condition:
Both brushes are in very good condition overall. The French Bulldog brush is free from chips and cracks, presenting an appearance that is much like new. The purple terrier brush shows some wear on the bristles and appears to have had its lower ear chipped and subsequently repainted; this was only discovered upon noticing that the edge of the ear felt sharper compared to the other.
