Art Deco Czech Hoffman Etched Crystal Aztec Perfume Bottle Bird Stopper – Parrot Intaglio

We have a Heinrich Hoffmann “Aztec” Art Deco Intaglio etched crystal Perfume bottle with a bird stopper. Made in Czechoslovakia in about 1930, the body features a frosted intaglio of a nude with a parrot, and the large cut crystal stopper takes the form of a parrot-type bird. The Hoffman mark of a butterfly can be found on the face of the bottle flying amongst the leaves.

Heinrich Hoffmann Heinrich Hoffmann (1875 – 1939) opened a shop selling glass jewellery in Paris at the turn of the 20th century. After studying glassmaking in Gablonz, he widened the range of his products to decorative pressed moulds and flacons due to the impulse given to this artistic direction by René Lalique.

• Made in Czechoslovakia
• Makers Mark: Hoffman etched butterfly mark on the front of the perfume bottle.
• Very good condition – There are a couple of fleabites on the stopper, one at the tip of the bird’s crest and one at the tail feather. The bottleneck has what is either a manufacturing flaw or a chip that has been professionally ground out, resulting in a flattened area on the neck ring. The stopper is missing the dauber, as is common with this design. – Please see photos.
