Description
We have for sale a wonderfully detailed framed etching dating to 1724. The page was originally the Frontispiece for the Atlas of Blaeu in volume I which was printed in Amsterdam in the 18th century. The image features scenes of Venice and other Italian towns, with the coats of arms of Toscana, Mantua, Modena, Milan, Parma, Lucca and Genoa. The very bottom has the “A La Haye Chez Rutgert Alberts” meaning published/authored by Rutgert Alberts at The Hague (a city in the Netherlands).
