WW2 Victory Bond Poster – More Guns More Shells – WWII 1940s Digitally Restored – Kinda Give it Your Personal Attention

We have for sale a Fine Art Print made from an original 1940s WW2 artist’s original design demo poster originally created for the Canadian Government. The original is a one-of-a-kind, drawn with pastel or some sort of oil crayon.   The poster was possibly designed by Herbert F. Roese but is not signed.  The design features a soldier laying in the grass with a gun, the words “Kinda give it your attention, will you?” above and “More Guns. More Shells.” below. This poster does not appear to have ever made it to print in Canada as there is only an American procurement version with different colouring and messages.

The original poster that we obtained at auction has been digitally restored by a professional to clean up foxing and remove creases, then printed using specialty machines used to create limited edition artist prints.

For the creation of Second World War Canadian Fundraising & Propaganda Posters, the Canadian government standardized the content requirements of such Wartime Propaganda posters in advance but had them designed and produced by several different companies. Artists received between $50 and $250, sometimes in Victory Bonds, for their interpretations.
